Snow Tent Like a Tentickle Stretch Tent!

Posted by on 18 Dec 2014 under South Africa, Tentickle Bedouin Tents News

For most South Africans snow is a mystical thing that only ever happens on some distant mountains and most often involve a long car trip to get to them. Then after hours in the car (and queuing behind everybody else looking for a snow day out) you finally reach the top of the middle of nowhere mountains to discover that the snow is actually only a few sporadic patches that are already melting.

Snow storms are a lot less pictureseque than this nativity scene set up by our supplier in Stockholm

And to be honest most of us like our snow that way – a long way away. After all one of the greatest things about living in South Africa, besides its people, is the amazing weather! Who doesn’t love long hot summers and relatively mild winters? While those from Jo’burg or the high veld who scrape frost off their cars once in a while might take issue with calling our winters mild, they are truly mild winters. Unlike those in the Northern climes, our weather warnings generally are limited to wear a jersey or put some extra sunblock on.

Spring is going to be In-Tents!

Posted by on 25 Jun 2014 under Events Management, South Africa

Planning any event is no easy task. All event planners know that there are a thousand and one things to do before the event starts, a hundred and one things to do once the event starts, and of course that one thing that somebody forgot to do. But with winter almost through, forgive me – I am an optimist, getting to work on the details of a spring or summer event is sure to make any event planner feel warm inside, whether it is a wedding, corporate event or a simple birthday celebration.

Tentickle Returns to AfrikaBurn

Posted by on 23 Apr 2014 under Events, South Africa

Cape Town, April 2014: For the eighth year in a row, Tentickle Stretch Tents will be pitching their unique tents at AfrikaBurn, one of South Africa’s largest festivals and the largest ‘burn’ outside of the United States of America.

AfrikaBurns draws its inspiration from the famous Burning Man festival held annually in the Nevada Desert, USA. AfrikaBurn follows the same guiding principles: Radical Inclusion, Decommodification, Radical Self-reliance, Radical Self-expression, Communal Effort, Civic Responsibility, Leaving No Trace, Immediacy and Gifting. All of these principles add up to a unique festival where nothing can be bought or sold, only traded or gifted and afterwards the desert returns to normal, with no trace of the festival.

Tentickle at RAMfest

Tentickle at RAMfest

RAMfest has become a South African institution. Already in its 8th year, RAMfest is getting bigger and better every year. But you know that – chances are that you were there this year. What you probably didn’t know is that Tentickle Stretch Tents were behind the great stage tents that Trivium, Killswitch Engage and Biffy Clyro were playing under.

RAMfest Staged Event Tent

The stage tents that were used at RAMfest are some of the most technical tents that are offered by Tentickle. As you can imagine, these tents not only have to keep the bands and DJ’s cool through the day and their equipment dry in the case of rain, but they also need to be fire retardant to keep them from catching fire from the awesome flame throwers.
