While summer might be the traditional and more popular option when it comes to choosing a time to get married, winter weddings are becoming more and more popular. The availability of venues, the lower off-season costs, the uniqueness of a winter wedding. There is also something very romantic about winter. Perhaps it’s the sparkly imagery conjured up by snow and ice, or the idea of snuggling with the one you love in the cold weather to stay warm, or perhaps it’s the sweeping snowy mountain vistas, the deep rich colours, the images of roaring fires, hot chocolate with marshmallows or warm furry jackets. The list of winter wonders is endless.

Right now we are deep in the grips of winter so it is very hard to imagine being outside, braai firing up and chommies standing around shooting the breeze. Boom Festival in Portugal is one of the oldest and most famous Trance festivals in the world.
Taking place every second year and running for 11 days in the middle of Southern Europe’s summer, temperatures can reach a sweltering 50 degrees Celsius and is a true test of a festival punter’s stamina. We were commissioned by the Boom Team to manufacturer tents for 3 of the party areas at the Boom festival in 2010 and flew over to setup up the tents while training the boom crew at the same time. We also monitored the tents over the entire festival period.

Fusion Festival in Germany is the country’s largest electronic music festival and a treat for any festival lover. Located in the North of Germany on an old air field base used during the First World War the venue has an intriguing feel which adds to the festivals uniqueness.
