Aside from feisty kangaroos and cuddly koalas, Australia is perhaps best known for its wonderful weather and glorious oceanside destinations. It’s not wonder then that many Aussie locals and visitors from around the globe flock to the country’s beaches to get hitched with the gorgeous ocean as the backdrop for their big day. In fact, if you want to get married on an Australian wedding you are 100% spoiled for choice – there are so many to choose from! To make things a little easier, we thought we’d share a few of our favourites:
Langford Island Beach (Queensland): If you want your wedding to be private and remote this is your best bet. Langford Island Beach is a half-hour boat ride from Airlie Beach and a great option for secluded celebrations.
Pearl Beach (New South Wales): Just about an hour and a half from Sydney, Pearl Beach is situated on the Central coast in a nice quiet area with plenty of little village restaurants nearby that make for cosy reception venues.
Cable Beach (Western Australia): This beach stretches on for a whopping 22 km and is renowned for its picture-perfect sunsets. Best of all – if you really want to make a unique entrance, you can do so on camel!
Twelve Apostles Beach (Victoria): If you’d like to add a little drama to your wedding-day proceedings, the epic cliffside scenery at the Twelve Apostles should do the trick. You have to access the beach by boat, but it’s definitely worth it.
Whitehaven Beach (Whitsunday Islands): If you’ve ever seen a picture of an Australian beach, it’s most likely you were looking at a picture of Whitehaven, which is the most photographed beach in Australia. It’s no wonder either – with its white, sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters, it’s most definitely photogenic.
These are just a few of the lovely beaches along the Australian coastline that could be turned into your fairytale service and/or reception venue. If you do choose one of these pretty spots to tie the knot, we highly recommend that you consider a stretch tent to ensure that your proceedings can proceed despite any weather-related challenges you might face on the day.
